The Empty Womb

Well the long awaited time is reached its final week, Chris will be leaving on August 7th and we wont see him again until his graduation from boot camp. If all goes well that will be in November. He begins his journey into one of his first paths of his adult life and I know that in many ways this boy that I have seen grow into a young man will be a different man when he returns, but no matter what changes he may take on he will always be my son whom I love and respect and am truly proud of. It will be very hard and emotional for me to see him leave. I can’t begin to imagine what Maria is going through at this time. As a man I cant begin to understand the emotional and physical connection that a mother has with her children from the moment that life begins in her womb life takes on a whole new meaning something that as a man I will never get to experience yet alone understand. From that moment on everything begins to change and when I look back and see the changes that begin to take place it is truly amazing I look back and remember the many things and changes that seemed a bit odd at the time but now somewhat make sense, like how much she hated pizza and how Chris loves it! How the smell of anything spicy just made her sick and Chris cant get enough of the spicy foods, She loved tomatoes and Chris can’t stand them. There are so many things that you never put stock into and as time goes on you begin to see your children grow up and develop and you can see why the connection between a mother and her child is truly amazing from that first moment in her womb she was not only caring for another life but unknowingly taking part in the development of that life she was already living it, The likes and dislikes that would become evident later in life. She cared for him in her womb for nine month and even though she knew him already she would meet him for the first time! Can you imagine knowing someone only to meet them for the first time? Nineteen years later she finds herself once again in a similar experience just as he left her womb empty nineteen years ago so that she could meet him for the first time, he will leave her arms empty, It will be much like the first time she knows him and has cared for him and she knows that when she see’s him again it will be like meeting him for the first time again. So I can only imagine what she will be going through I witnessed how painful it was for her when she met him for the first time and know I will witness how painful it will be to say goodbye for the first time.

1 Corinthians 13

1 Suppose I speak in the languages of human beings and of angels. If I don't have love, I am only a loud gong or a noisy cymbal. 2 Suppose I have the gift of prophecy. Suppose I can understand all the secret things of God and know everything about him. And suppose I have enough faith to move mountains. If I don't have love, I am nothing at all. 3 Suppose I give everything I have to poor people. And suppose I give my body to be burned. If I don't have love, I get nothing at all.

4 Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not want what belongs to others. It does not brag. It is not proud. 5 It is not rude. It does not look out for its own interests. It does not easily become angry. It does not keep track of other people's wrongs.

6 Love is not happy with evil. But it is full of joy when the truth is spoken. 7 It always protects. It always trusts. It always hopes. It never gives up.

8 Love never fails. But prophecy will pass away. Speaking in languages that had not been known before will end. And knowledge will pass away.

9 What we know now is not complete. What we prophesy now is not perfect. 10 But when what is perfect comes, the things that are not perfect will pass away.

11 When I was a child, I talked like a child. I thought like a child. I had the understanding of a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

12 Now we see only a dim likeness of things. It is as if we were seeing them in a mirror. But someday we will see clearly. We will see face to face. What I know now is not complete. But someday I will know completely, just as God knows me completely.

13 The three most important things to have are faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love.

The S.P.I.T. Challenge

As you read this post you are wondering what is The S.P.I.T. Challenge? Well it is November the 30th today and with Christmas just around the corner I have decided to post a challenge to my son Christopher. Before I get into the details let me first give you a little insight why I have posted the challenge. For the last three years Christopher has been asking my help and assistance in getting into shape but primarily to get cut up! As he call's it and in fairness to him I have failed him. So why the challenge instead of assistance you mite be wondering well when he was 14 years old my ideas and thoughts seemed to be accepted better now that he is 17 and his mindset and temperament are different than when he was 14 years old! No news there I know. What was once an opinion on my part now seems more of a hurdle or diversion in his road to achieve his Goal. So we come to the challenge! We will both have access to the same foods, supplements and equipment the only thing that differentiates is he will invest in a Electrical muscle stimulation belt which he is the convinced that it will give him a six pack and the one thing I wont use since I am skeptical of it also it most likely wont fit me and last this belt was responsible for the disagreement that led to
The S.P.I.T. Challenge! Let The fun begin.

Six
Pack
In
Thirty Days

1. Set your Goal
Determine a time frame a shorter one is always better slow and small progression are always the ones that will stay with you this should be followed by your expected outcome this part is the easiest but always proves to be the breaking point since we always expect a bigger outcome of that which we are willing to commit to the cost is always great but the rewards supersedes it every time this is applied to all portions of your Goal such as food, supplements, equipment, and the most important one "Time"

2. Apply your Goal
Don't allow yourself to use anyone or anything as a crutch in the outcome of your Goal! Not often do I find myself a fan of the military’s quotes or slogans with the exception of this one. "Pain is Weakness Leaving The Body" I find it to be straightforward and very true!

3. Maintain you Goal
Always remember the pain and determination that it took you to get here! And if you accomplished it you should always remember the cost so with that in mind it is best to maintain the Goal once you have achieved it than it is relapse back to the beginning!

I will post a before and after picture of both of us, with in between info and pictures as well. The Goal is to see who will have the best results in thirty days.

IRVING, Texas - In what has become a rather entertaining sideshow to the historic Thanksgiving Day game, the halftime performers were introduced Friday at Valley Ranch.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced that the Grammy-nominated rock band, Daughtry, will perform live at Cowboys Stadium during halftime of the Raiders game on Nov. 26.

The halftime show, which is used annually to kick off the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign, is aired nationally on CBS.

Daughtry is led by vocalist Chris Daughtry, a fourth-place finisher in 2007 on the popular "American Idol," a Fox reality show that has now produced three halftime performers in Carrie Underwood (2006) and Kelly Clarkson (2007).

Daughtry will perform a medley of songs from their chart-topping album, "Leave This Town," along with other big hits, including "Over You" and "It's Not Over."

"Thanksgiving is a time for great traditions, like watching the Cowboys game, giving thanks for the blessings in your life and remembering those less fortunate," said Chris Daughtry. "This year, the band will perform at the game during halftime and encourage people to generously support a fantastic charity that has a real impact on people's lives."

This will be the 13the year the Cowboys' halftime show has launched the Red Kettle campaign, which has raised more than $1 billion since the partnership began in 1997. Previous halftime performers include Toby Keith, Sheryl Crow, Destiny's Child and Reba McEntire, the first performer back at Texas Stadium.

Here's a list of all the halftime performers for The Salvation Army Red Kettle show.

Paranormal Borivity

OK Here it goes I know many of you will storm the Video stores and late night Theater horror shows to get that ultimate rush of "scary berry feeling" and all I can say just what ever Movies you decide to take pleasure in do yourself a favor and "DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS GARBAGE" I heard the warnings from everyone and not to pick on some of these people but common some of the people that I heard these warnings from are some of the toughest sons of guns out there so I said OK ill bite on it…. and then many, many, many more boring minutes after minutes of boring footage I found myself struggling to stay awake I really "did" it was so predictable and routine as everything that is out there today! And after 86 minutes into the movie I thought oh here it is what everyone was talking about the scariest and most terrifying thing about this movie was that you knew that soon someone would ask you the dreaded question "So" was it really scary? And as much as you would want to spare them the pain of sitting through it you tell yourself no one spared me my cost of time and money so you'll look at them and with this very convincing look you will say I have never been more scared. So I ask myself what has happen to the good old horror movies? I guess I am just a tough sell when it comes to these types of movies. I have added a list my top ten favorites.

1. The Shining (1980)
2. Halloween (1978)
3. Jaws' (1975)
4. The Exorcist' (1973)
5. Wolf Creek (2005)
6. Cujo (1983)
7. The Omen (1976)
8. Christine (1983)
9. The Howling (1981)
10. It (1990) (TV)

I'M Back!!!!!! Did You Miss Me???????

Well it has been just about three month since I last logged in or even had anytime to post the smallest thing on my blog… What has kept me from blogging well I can mention a number of things but the truth is that sometimes you just have to detox and that’s probably the best word that I can truly give at this time. Detoxify from what or what am I trying to say by that (NO WORRIES) not drug or alcohol related just the compound of life itself and the amount of toxins that one can impute into ones mind body and eventually your soul. As for Maria and the kids they have had a tough late September and early October they have been hit with cold and flu bugs and after lots of medication Gatorade and tissues they are better now. There has been so many things going on in these last few months that have played an important part in the time factor and to the opportunity to blog postings as well but soon enough I will take a trip back on memory and picture lane and do my very best to update the past month activities and events that have surrounded us these past month.

Brothers

When a decorated Marine goes missing overseas, his black-sheep younger brother cares for his wife and children at home—with consequences that will shake the foundation of the entire family. Brothers tells the powerful story of two siblings, thirtysomething Captain Sam Cahill (Tobey Maguire) and younger brother Tommy Cahill (Jake Gyllenhaal), who are polar opposites. A Marine about to embark on his fourth tour of duty, Sam is a steadfast family man married to his high school sweetheart, the aptly named Grace (Natalie Portman), with whom he has two young daughters (Bailee Madison, Taylor Grace Geare). Tommy, his charismatic younger brother, is a drifter just out of jail who’s always gotten by on wit and charm. He slides easily into his role as family provocateur on his first night out of prison, at Sam’s farewell dinner with their parents, Elsie (Mare Winningham) and Hank Cahill (Sam Shepard), a retired Marine

Burger King Texican Whopper - What Do You Really Think About It?

I personally find this advert funny. Is there anything that doesn't offend us anymore? Maybe it's just me but like I try to teach my kids you are who you believe you are, what do I mean by that is just that simple there are always going to be people and groups telling you what you should do how to do it and when to do it, but ultimately it's up to us the individual to make those choices and set the standards of living for our self’s first and foremost, so it's just that simple what do you really think about it? And when your true to yourself the answer is that clear how did you feel about it before you where intoxicated by the thoughts of everyone else. Do Not Follow Where The Path May Lead. Go Where There Is No Path... And Leave A Trail. As for me I sure hope to see one of these burgers out soon it makes my mouth water, but come to think about it I don't know what I am waiting for truth be told I am Texican so I think I’ll just go make my own, lol lol lol
